About

Scott D. MacDonald serves as associate professor of theology and assistant dean with the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College in Cochrane, Alberta. He enjoys exploring issues pertaining to Global Theology, Byang Kato, Pneumatology, Spiritual Warfare, Biblical Demonology, Missions, Prayer, New Testament, and Multicultural Communities. More than anything, Scott likes to research in such a way that it enhances his ministry to his family, his church, his students, and his community. He is married to Michal, and they have four children - Malachi, Adelaide, Isaiah, and Aliza.

Scott earned his Doctor of Theology with the University of South Africa in 2017, his Master of Theology with Stellenbosch University in 2013, and his Bachelor of Arts (Theology) with Moody Bible Institute in 2010. In 2016, he also completed some additional graduate courses with Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and in 2005, he received a one-year Bible certificate with the Berkshire Institute of Christian Studies. He is a board member of the Global Pastor Institute and a full member of the Evangelical Theological Society.

Scott continues to write! A book on unanswered prayer is coming out in 2026 (co-written with Erwin Lutzer). And in 2021, he wrote Demonology for the Global Church: A Biblical Approach in a Multicultural Age, which is available via Amazon and Langham
